Below are some pictures of Highland Boy that I have collected over the years.  The town has been covered with earth and no longer exists.












I received the following three pictures from my uncle.

The Badovinatz family lived in the small white house along the left edge of the picture almost half way up.

Joseph Edward Badovinatz

The Badovinatz family called Highland boy, Utah home.  This wild and unforgiving mining town presented many hardships.  As a miner George support his wife Angelina, three little children and now a new baby was welcomed to the world.  The above Doctor and his wife wanted to adopt baby Joseph, but George and Angelina could not part with their son.  Even though money was tight and life was hard he was their son and they could not give him away.

Joseph enjoyed playing baseball and coached teams throughout his life.

Like many other residents of the Salt Lake area Joseph was employed by Kennecott Copper.


This is how I remember my Grandfather.  Every year her would dress up as Santa and visit all of his Grandchildren.
